The Cyprus Space Industry Association (CSIA) was officially established in May 2025 by some of the most prominent Cypriot space companies, including Ecliptic Defence and Space, Geofem, AmaDema, Ai Zerocaliber, and Cloudwater. Its founding has received written support by the Republic of Cyprus, the European Space Agency (ESA), the Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy, which is responsible for the national space strategy and ESA cooperation and the Cyprus Ministry of Defence.
CSIA embodies both a personal and national mission: to highlight Cyprus’s capabilities, empower local innovators and demonstrate that even small nations can lead in advanced technology sectors.
Uniquely, the Cyprus Space Industry Association is led by a board where women play a defining role in shaping the country’s space future. Guided by four pioneering women alongside a male counterpart from the engineering sector, the Association reflects the growing contribution of women in science, technology and leadership. This gender-inclusive governance not only enriches decision-making but also reinforces CSIA’s commitment to equality and diversity across all levels of the space ecosystem.
Through close cooperation with the national government and relevant authorities, the Association ensures that the voices of researchers, innovators and other organizations are represented in policy-making, funding and strategic planning, while also promoting equal representation of its members in European and international organizations.
Through these connections, CSIA encourages cross-border collaboration and aligns Cypriot capabilities with international standards and global opportunities.
